About Mr. Hamilton
[email protected] |
Welcome to class. My name is Mr. Hamilton, and I'm looking forward to working with you this year.
While this is just my first year at Myers Park, I have spent over ten years as an educator here in North Carolina. In addition to teaching, I spent five years in education at both UNC and Appalachian State working in residence life administration.
A Raleigh native, I spent 12 years in Wake County Schools as a student before earning my BA and M.Ed. at UNC Wilmington. I'm naturally a huge fan of the beach and doing anything on the water. When I'm not close by to the coast, I spend my free time watching movies, volunteering, and spending time with the family. People always ask, "Why are you and English teacher?" Summers off are great, but I love having the opportunity to help students grow as both readers and writers as well as helping them to create a variety of opportunities for their future. |
What do I expect from students? |
1) Students should arrive on time each day with the materials they need to be successful.
2) Students should plan to come to class ready to think, read, write, and to challenge themselves. 3) Work will be completed both in and out of class. Students cannot grow without putting in the effort to get this work done and submitted on time.. 4) I am open to feedback, but I'm not open to efforts to try and get out of doing work in the class. 5) Students must read the texts that are assigned. |
Things You Should Expect From Me:
1) You will be challenged to think and work every day.
2) I will give you a hard time from time to time.
3) I will do everything that I can to help you be successful.
4) A huge factor in your success in my class is if you try to complete every assignment.
